Who we are

Polly Amos and Laura Polglase are qualified energy assessors and have ten years combined experience in the sustainable refurbishment of their own houses.  We are now using this direct experience to advise others on how to create a sustainable and energy efficient home.

My interest in the sustainable renovation of houses started several years ago with hands-on experience in my own home and I am a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor. ‘Green’ refurbishment has developed greatly over the last few years. The challenge is to identify improvements which are energy efficient, practical and suit the people who live in the house. Previous experience working with a wide range of charities as a management consultant and before that in the London insurance market required good communication and an analytical and pragmatic approach. I really enjoy applying these skills in a more tangible way to help people make their homes more comfortable and less resource intensive.

I am a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor.  I developed my interest in sustainable building while refurbishing my own Victorian house in South-West London a few years ago  I believe that it is possible to renovate old buildings sympathetically while making them more energy efficient and comfortable to live in. Following a career in law and finance,  I have  worked in the fundraising sector and spent many years as a volunteer adviser for Citizens Advice.
